The Fireflies Special Edition Gift Set releases on September 1st just in time for Christmas shopping! I couldn’t be more excited! Together with some partners, I’ve created some beautiful items for the box. Even the box is gorgeous! Here are some pics:
As you can see in the pictures, the special edition includes signed copies of all three books, a matching set of bookmarks, custom journal and pen, and a canvas tote bag showcasing the complete trilogy. I also include a fun personal note. Last, but not least, I designed and included a custom bracelet! The stone at the center of the bracelet depicts a piece of meteorite with fossilized chondria, only given to compatible humans in the Fireflies world. Now, just like Marley, anyone can be a potential host.
So, you may be wondering how this idea came about. I saw two needs. First, I have a teenage daughter. She’s hard to shop for when it comes to birthdays and Christmas. Are there any moms out there that can relate? 🙂 Second, at the Tucson Festival of Books, a lot of people were excited about my custom canvas bag and phone case that depict the Fireflies Trilogy. While it didn’t make sense to offer a phone case in the gift set (too many sizes and types of phones), there were other fun things I could include. Also, I had a difficult time finding other authors who offer a special edition gift set. So, I thought, why not? The idea was born, and I got to work. The bracelet, which is my favorite item, was taken from the books themselves as I talked about above.
