I have exciting news! I have partnered with fellow indie author, Lisa Caskey, for a brand new creative endeavor. We’re both instructors of independent publishing and our mission is to celebrate, review, and teach writers about indie publishing. Our name? Indie Chicks! Here’s a great Stepbrother-esque picture of us (courtesy of Mark Koberlein, talented photographer and husband). We were at the Moravian Bookstore recording our first podcast episode.
So, what can you expect from us?
In a word–lots.
First, we have a podcast show that will release in the coming weeks. We will talk about publishing, providing advice based on our own experiences. Lisa is a professional freelance writer and, as you know, I’m a professor of communication and, now, publishing for writers! We also review indie books twice a month.
Speaking of indie book reviews, if you’re a self-published author, make sure you subscribe to the mailing list on Indie Chicks. We will be sending out information about how you could be the next book we review! We love indie publishing and want to support our fellow authors. The best way to do that is to review your books! Supporting the indie author community is very important to us.
Lastly, we end each episode with a publishing Tip of the Week.

What products, you ask? I’m glad you asked! We will be offering Book Publishing Timelines, coaching, and valuable webinars. Our products page is still in the works but should be up and running before summer’s end!
